There were 11 games scheduled for tonight in Section Five; we are still pending scores for Eastridge vs. Thomas and Mercy vs. Clarence.  Hopefully, those will be updated soon.  Of the nine remaining games, half were decided by over 10 points.  There were still close match-ups with Geneva defeating Wayne 9-8 and Waterloo defeating Aquinas 8-7.  The remaining scores were Marcus Whitman over Gananda 17-6, Churchville-Chili over Brockport 15-4, Spencerport over Victor 18-5, Mynderse-Romulus over Livonia 18-8, Hilton over Penn Yan 13-6, Brighton over Schroeder 16-7 and Irondequoit over Gates Chili 21-2.

On the second to last day of the regular season, four of the eight games played went into overtime.  R-H defeated Brighton 9-8 off a goal from Rayea Davis, Fairport defeated Canandaigua 10-9 off a goal from Morgan Schwab, Penfield over HFL 7-6 and Geneva over C-C 13-12.  Additional scores were Spencerport over Pal-Mac 18-5, Waterloo over Aquinas 14-12, Mynderse-Romulus over Gananda 11-6 and Irondequoit over Greece Storm 9-2.

# 351  Victor defeats Irondequoit
Victor defeated Irondequoit 17-10.  The Blue Devils scored the first three goals of the contest and never trailed.  The Eagles kept the game close for a while, before the Blue Devils slowly pulled away.  The opening goal was scored by Danielle Colucci with a feed from behind the cage by Riley Urzetta.  Only 0:12 later, Kylie Gelabert scored on a fast-break after grabbing the draw control directly from the circle.  Another 0:14 later, Lucy Haggerty scored off an inside feed from Hannah Kumpf.  The Blue Devils scored three goals in under 27 seconds.

here were two games that went to overtime tonight.  Rush Henrietta Junior Gabby Garrett scored the game winning goal in the first overtime period to defeat Canandaigua 9-8 and Whitesboro defeated Waterloo 14-13 in overtime.  Additional games played tonight were Thomas over Mercy 15-8, Irondequoit over Gates Chili 16-3, Greece Storm over Eastridge 12-4, Penfield over Brighton 13-5 and Fairport over HFL 10-8.  Victor travelled to West Genesee to become the third team to face the Wildcats this season; West Genesee defeated Victor 17-3.

# 288  Brighton Pulls Away in Second Half
op seeded Brighton scored a four goal stretch to end the first half and begin the second half to defeat #8 seeded Irondequoit 9-6.  Irondequoit led for a large portion of the first half, and remained competitive before Brighton began to pull away in the early second half.

# 135  Thomas Defense Steps up in Overtime Win
n the second game of the tournament where the lower seed won, #5 Thomas defeated #4 Irondequoit 10-9 in double overtime.  The Titans` defense was stellar and they were the keystone to their victory.  Sophmore Keyal Bay, juniors Julia Nicolosi and Grace Lagoner and senior Allison Barnes and junior goalie Haley Barrett deserve more press than they will receive.  The five close defenseman, along with their midfield counterparts were beyond impressive in today`s contest.  In addition to the defense, junior midfielder Emily Glagolev had a stand-out day at the draw.  She finished with 10 draw controls for the Titans.

airport is becoming used to playing in overtime.  In the last four games, the Red Raiders have gone to overtime three times and won all three.  Maddie Howe scored her third goal of the night with 1:11 left in overtime to secure the victory.

here were eight games played on the last day of April.  Half were close and half were one-sided.  R-H defeated Schroeder 9-8, Eastridge defeated Newark 8-7, Corning defeated Canandaigua 12-8 and Penfield defeated Churchville-Chili 9-4.  On the other side of the coin, Irondequoit defeated Livonia 17-4, Victor defeated Hilton 17-5, Thomas defeated Lancaster 17-6 and Brighton defeated Mercy 22-5.

# 83  Irondequoit's Melidona and Butler are Keys in Victory
idfielder Quinn Melidona and attackman Marina Butler were both key figures in Irondequoit's 10-8 win over Rush-Henrietta.  The Eagles led for nearly the entire contest with R-H only tying the game briefly 4-4 early in the second half.  Butler finished the game with 1g-3a and Melidona was a force on defense for the Eagles.  Four different players scored two goals for Irondequoit with Celina Alvarado, Annie Brennan, Kiersten Pease and Erika Sherwood scoring.
